Grading:
A=90-100 B=80-89 C=75-79
D=70-74 F=below 70 I=incomplete
Grading follows the policies of Biloxi Public
Schools. A mid-term progress report and
a report card following the end of each term are issued. The student’s current grades are available via
Internet IOD. (http://iiod.ssts.com/Home.asp?state=MS)
Tests: Comprehensive tests will
be given throughout the term. Students
are strongly encouraged to practice the test taking strategies on their
tests. An individual copy of the test is
made for each student. Make up work will
be completed before/after school or at the teacher's discretion at home. Grading Scale- 55%Tests, 35% Activities, 10%
TermTest
Retesting:
All students are encouraged to retest if they are
unhappy with their grade, regardless of their score. The higher of the two test
grades will be placed in the grade book. To retest, students must make an
appointment to come to review the test and successfully complete a remediation
assignment (including tutoring) and retest within 10 days of receiving his or
her score on the original test. All daily/missed work relating to the test must
be complete before the retesting process may begin. I am available for reteach and retest on
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday afternoons.
Homework/Assignments/Projects: No daily homework will be given; however, students
will be expected to study for weekly tests, and at the teacher's discretion,
students may have to complete unfinished assignments.
Course Requirements:
Students will be expected to master skills in
preparation for the common term assessment, English II Writing Test, and
English II Multiple Choice Test.
